Portrait Sessions
My passion for photgraphy was ignited by my chlldren. I was frustrated with the formal posed portraits I'd bought over the years which never seemed to reflect the boisterous exuberance I love so much in them. I wanted to catch the unique details about my children in my photographs.
As a result, my photographic style is journalistic rather than formal. I prefer to photograph children in an environment that is most comfortable for them--their home or a favorite and familiar park. While I do generally take a few posed shots, I'm most interested in catching children as they naturally are, wearing their favorite clothes, doing what they like to do. I enjoy catching a variety of expressions-- curiousity, pensiveness, joy, even irritation. I especially love photographing them as they interact with the people they love. I hope the photographs I take of your child will reflect who she or he really is at a specific age; in twenty years, I want these images to take you and your child (and their children) back to that exact moment in time. My portrait sessions have no set time frame, but they generally last from 1-3 hours depending on the number of children. I go with the flow of the day, the mood of the child. Sessions start at $300 and include my creative fees, shooting and basic editing time. In addition, proofs will be posted online for a period of one month.
